The Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee announces services for Mr. Zophar Aaron Bradley, age 89 of Hiawassee who passed away on Wednesday evening, December 7, 2011 at Chatuge Regional Nursing Home. Mr. Bradley was born in Towns County, Georgia on July 10, 1922 to the late Earl & Mamie Garrett Bradley. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps. prior to World War II. He then enlisted and faithfully served his country in combat with the 9th Army in the 378th Infantry Regiment where he was awarded 3 Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart. Mr. Bradley was a Deacon and Member at Philadelphia Baptist Church in Hayesville. Zophar was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Helen Bradley; his parents; 2 brothers & 1 sister.
He will be fondly remembered by all who knew him, but especially missed by his family: Daughter & Son-in-Law, Pat & Larry Nicholson of Hiawassee; Grandson & Granddaughter-in-Law, Bryan & Joyce Nicholson of Calhoun, Georgia and Great Grandsons, Jacob, Matthew and Jesse Nicholson.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2011 from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home in Hiawassee with Rev. David Berrong and Rev. Mark Shook officiating. Special Music will be provided by the Eagle Mountain Quartet. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers: Mike Morgan, Mike Woody, Kyle Woody, Travis Waldroup, Heath Kimsey, Wade Nicholson, Jacob Nicholson, Matthew Nicholson and Jesse Nicholson.The Deacons of Philadelphia Baptist Church: Pete Kimsey, Kurt Kimsey, Adrian Hogsed, Doug Mills, Rex Hogsed will serve as Honorary Escort to the family and Levi Kimsey, Ruel Bradley will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Interment will follow in the Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6 until 9 p.m..
