JoAnn Francis

Wilma "JoAnn" Francis, 78, died at the Clay County Care Center in Hayesville, NC on January 9, 2025 after fighting a long battle with cancer. She was born on September 3, 1946 to the late George and Wilma Deitrick. JoAnn is survived by her daughter Dawn (Aaron) Martin of Warne, NC, her sister Kathy (Mike) Maziar of Zanesville, Ohio, her brother George (Martha) Deitrick of Beallsville, Ohio, and many neices and nephews. JoAnn loved baking and cooking, which brought her joy and spread joy to all around her. There was always an open door, pot of coffee, and dessert available to anyone. Hospitality was part of her faith, and in her younger years she volunteered countless hours at her local church thru bake sales, teaching kids, summer programs, and more. JoAnn also enjoyed spending time with her grand-dogs, loving and caring for them. During her time at the Care Center, JoAnn was a social butterfly, playing bingo, coloring, coordinating resident movies, and more.
