Willie Erice Thompson

Rev. W.E. "Bill" Thompson, age 84 of Morganton, passed away July 7, 2015 at Pruitt Health Care. Rev. Thompson was born March 20, 1931 in Byromville, GA to the late William Lumpkin Thompson and the late Anna Estelle Poole Thompson. He was a former pastor, and retired from Lance Construction. At the time of his death, he was a member of Star Creek Baptist Church. He loved gospel music. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict in Germany.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jean Nicholson Thompson, sisters, Mary Jane, Nell and Lona and his baby brother.

Survivors include: daughter, Beverly Thompson, sister, Jimmie Lancaster, grandson, Jonathan (Stacey) Thompson, great-grandchildren, Brittany, Kaitlyn and Jacob.

Memorial services will be on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Temple Baptist Church with Dr. Roger Beck officiating. Interment will follow in Chastain Memorial Park.
