William Robert "Junior" Shields

William Robert "Junior" Shields, age 79 of Andrews, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016 at his home. He was born April 30, 1937 in Nantahala, NC to the late Frank James Shields and the late Paralee Emily Grant Shields. He was a member of Briartown Baptist Church and had owned his own business L & W Trucking Company where he had enjoyed working for a number of years. He was preceded in death by brother James Dillard Shields.

Survivors include: wife, Lois Wilson Shields, sons, Samuel (Penny) Shields, Dennis (Michaela) Shields, Mathew (Paula) Shields,daughter, Tammy Kirkland, brother, Stanley Shields, sisters, Mary Elizabeth Phillips,, Brenda Wilbanks, Delores Ann Smith, grandchildren, Shane Shields, Jennifer Shields, Cynthia Shields, Heather Kirkland, Joshua Shields, Sarah Shields and Emma Shields.

Funeral services: Sunday, December 11, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Cochran Funeral Home of Murphy Chapel with Rev. Jack Hollowell officiating. Interment will follow in Briartown Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Cochran Funeral Home of Murphy of Murphy, Saturday, December 10, 2016, 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
