William "Hoyt" Welch

William "Hoyt" Welch, age 78 of McCaysville, passed away Saturday, August 26, 2017 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville. Hoyt was born December 24, 1938 in Blue Ridge, GA to the late Harmon Gordon "GW" Welch and the late Edith Chastain Welch. Hoyt was an Ironworker by trade having worked many years for the Ironworkers of Atlanta Local 387and he was a US Military Veteran. A member of the Copper Basin Golf Course, playing golf was his favorite pastime.

Survivors include wife, Marilyn Alfonsi Welch, son, Beau Welch, brother and sister-in-law, Charles "Buck" and Penny Welch, brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Sherry Welch, one grandson, Tyler Simile and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 29, 2017 from 2-3 pm at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home of McCaysville.

The family will receive friends at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home on Tuesday from 1-2 pm before the service.
