William "Bill" Robert Souther

Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces the death and funeral services for Mr. William Robert "Bill" Souther, age 71, of Blairsville, Georgia, who passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 22nd, 2022.

Mr. Souther was born in Cleveland, Georgia, a son of the late Warren Ray Souther and the late Doris Hunter Souther. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, achieving the rank of Lt. Commander, and served during the Vietnam era. He was a retired Senior Vice President with Aviagen, and traveled all over the world. Bill was a huge fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves.

Surviving family members include a brother, Chris Souther; and a sister and brother-in-law, Roxanne S. and Danny Barrett; nieces and nephew: Brandi (Brett) Owenby, Bethany Barrett, Lauren Souther and Christopher Souther.

Funeral services have been scheduled for Friday, March 25th, 2022, to be held at 3:00 p.m., at Choestoe Baptist Church, with Rev. Dick Stillwell officiating. Eulogy will be presented by Lamar Paris. Burial will be in the church cemetery, with Pastor John Thompson officiating. The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers: Lamar Paris, Danny Barrett, Chris Souther, Buddy Hunter, Barry Collins, and Brett Owenby.

Visitation will be on Friday at Choestoe Baptist Church, starting at 1:00 p.m., and last until time for the funeral service to begin.
