William "Bill" Picon, age 61 of Murphy, NC, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, May 15, 2010. Mr. Picon was born September 10, 1948 in Browns Mills, New Jersey, the son of the late William George and Anna Navas Picon. Mr. Picon was of the Christian Faith and had served as Praise and Worship Leader at the World Harvest Church North in Morganton, GA. Bill was a dedicated father, grandfather and foster parent to many children. He was the former owner and operator of Satellite City.
Mr. Picon was preceeded in death by his parents and 4 brothers, David, Steven, Daniel and Robert.
Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years, Phyllis Picon of Murphy, children, William Desmond Picon of Sylva, NC, Brian David Picon, Christina Ann Picon Lundy and Cynthia Eileen Picon Bradley, all of Murphy, sisters, Cynthia Picon of Sylva, NC, Nancy Miranda of Miami, FL, brothers, Richard Picon of Tampa, FL and Ronald Picon of Sylva, NC and grandchildren, Gabrielle Picon, Morgan Picon, Devon Picon, Ethan Lundy, Evan Lundy, Caleb Bradley, Wyatt Bradley, Adrianna Picon, Callista Lundy and Luke Bradley. Many Nieces, Nephews and other relatives also survive.
Memorial services are scheduled for Thursday May 20, 2010 at 7:00 PM from the Murphy Church of God with Pastor Asa Dockery and Pastor Jason Gainey officiating. The family will recieve friends at the church Thursday from 6 until 7 PM.
