The Cochran Funeral Home and Crematory of Blairsville announces Memorial Services for Mr. William "Bill" Lewis Erwin of Blairsville, formerly from Brunswick, GA, who passed away Sunday, June 18, 2017 after an extended illness.
Bill loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and sitting on his porch watching humming birds.
He devoted many years mentoring youth through the Woodman of the World organization and his church RA's. Bill served as a Deacon of his church, and also served his country for 20 years in the Army National Guard.
He leaves behind his wife of 64 years, Austilla "Stella" Lowery Erwin; three children, Donnie (Darlene) Erwin, Karen (Mark) McDougal, and Glenn (Wendy) Erwin; six grandchildren, Jeff (Caytie) Campbell, Alan (Rebecca) Erwin, Shea (Kimberly) Campbell, Marcie (Nick) McDonald, Tyler Erwin, Sydney Erwin; plus thirteen great-grandchildren; and a brother, Albert Erwin.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home in Blairsville with Dr. Fred Lodge officiating. Interment will be held at a later date in Georgia National Cemetery.
