William "Bill" Hamilton Pickrell

William "Bill" Hamilton Pickrell, age 94 of Blue Ridge, passed away December 18, 2016 at Pruitt Health of Blue Ridge, Georgia. Mr. Pickrell was born November 13, 1922 in Leon, KS to the late Elza Frank Pickrell and the late Hazel Berta Mac Pickrell. A member and deacon of Blue Ridge First Baptist Church, as well as a member of Allegheny Masonic Lodge in Blairsville, Ga., Applalachian Shriners Club of Blairsville, Ga., The Loins Club of Blairsville , Ga. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Nydine Dilts. brothers, Don Pickrell, Kenneth Pickrell & Melvin Pickrell. He retired from Lockheed Aircraft after 30 years of service. After Bill retired he was the assistant fire chief at the Suches Fire Department, as well as working the Voting polls & was on the board of Equalization for 12 yrs. in Union County.

Survivors include: wife, Mary Deweese Pickrell, son, William Joseph ( Sandra) Pickrell, daughter, Brenda (Jimmy) Mathreson, daughter, Margie (Ken) Fowler, daughter, Karen (Carl) Reichsteinor, son, FrankWayne (Cindy) Pickrell, daughter, Sylvia Demetolkias, 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Funeral services: Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bob Richardson officiating. Music provided by: Imogene Stewart. Interment will follow in Chastian Memorial Park. Pallbearers: Ryan Pickrell, Jessie Pickerll, Joe Pickrell, Hunter Wayland, Jeremy Prichett & Mac Sellars.

The family will receive friends at the Henry Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, Georgia. Tuesday December 20, 2016 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
