Mr. William Otis Harper, known as Mickey or Mick age 81 of McCaysville, passed away March 4, 2015 at the Life Care Center of Copper Basin. Mr. Harper was born October 7, 1933 in Mineral Bluff, GA, to the late Otis Harper and the late Willie Mull Harper. He was a member of Mineral Bluff Baptist Church. Mickey adored his granddaughters and loved spending time with them. He enjoyed fishing, working on his lawn, and working on cars, especially Volkswagens.
He was preceded in death by wife, Lelia Marlene Harper, sisters, Regina Pelfrey, Geneva
Henson, and brother, Cecil Harper.
Survivors include: son & daughter-in-law, Rick & Dana Harper, granddaughter & husband, Brittany & Jonathan Newton, granddaughter, Brandi Harper, great-grandson, Henry Newton, and great-granddaughter, Harper Newton. Also several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 8, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Donald Padgett officiating. Music provided by: Mr. Charlie Farmer, Renee Watkins, and J.W. Patterson. Interment will follow in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Mineral Bluff. Pallbearers include Lannie Henson, Kenny Pelfrey, Mike Henson, Kyle Abernathy, Rex Henry and Travis Pelfrey.
The family will receive friends at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home of McCaysville, GA, Saturday, March 7, 2015, from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
