William Louie Barton

Mr. William Louie Barton, age 85 of Morganton, passed away July 20, 2016 at his home. Louie was born May 23, 1931 in Mineral Bluff, GA to the late Frank Barton and the late Myrtle Mae Abercrombie Barton. A member of the Toccoa Baptist Church, he was preceded in death by his wife, Reathel Stewart Barton, and three brothers, Worth, Wilburn (Booge) and Vincent Barton. Louie graciously served his country in the armed forces for 20 years during the Korean and Vietnam wars. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family when he was able.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Faron and Monique Barton, daughter and son-in-law, Alisa and Doug Newman, sister and brother-in-law, Frankie and Donnie Stephens, four grandchildren, Christopher and Jaime Harper and Shauna and Hannah Barton, seven great-grandchildren and numerous relatives and friends.

Mr. Barton was laid to rest next to his wife, Reathel on Friday, July 22, 2016. Military honors were conducted by the North Georgia Honor Guard. Graveside services will be held at the Toccoa Baptist Church Cemetery on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 10 am for family and friends to pay their last respects.
