William Horace Roberts

William Horace Roberts, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2013. Born in Muphy NC He was the son of the late James William and Ethel Mae Rogers Roberts.
He will be cherished in memory by his devoted wife, Jeri Ruth Smith Roberts; several nieces, nephews and countless friends.
Horace was a retired carpenter and a member of Dooley Masonic Lodge 367.
He was a NASCAR enthusiast and enjoyed gardening.
He was a member of Notla Baptist Church, but had currently been an active associate member of Martins Creek United Methodist Church for several years.
He was a happy, giving person who was always ready to help in any situation and never expected praise or recognition.
Being a strong Christian he was deeply devoted to his church and continually donated his time as a skilled carpenter. As a valued member of his church and community, he and his friendly smile will greatly be missed.
The funeral services will be at 3:00PM Sunday, January 27, 2013 from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Aud Brown, Rev. David Feathers, and Rev. Paul Bauer officiating. Musicians include Susan Evans, Rev. Paul Bauer and Becky Brown.
Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers, Scottie Wershing, Gary Kilpatrick, John Evans, Eugene Morrow, Charles Stiles and Ray Whitmore. Honorary Pallbearers, Lee Roberson, Sherdon Scroggs and Terry Hatchett.

Visitation, Sunday January 27, 2 till 3 PM at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gideons International at P.O. Box 164 Murphy, NC 28906 or the charity of your chose.
