William Homer Morgan

Cochran Funeral Home and Crematory of Blairsville announces Funeral Services for Mr. William H. Morgan, age 89, of Blairsville, who passed away early on Tuesday morning, January 31st, 2017 at Murphy Medical Center Nursing Home in Murphy, NC, where he was a resident.

Homer was born May 28, 1927, in Union County GA., and lived there most of his life. He was the son of Ezra B. and Bessie Ellen Gilbert Morgan and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. He was an auto mechanic and a farmer. He is preceded in death by his wife Annie Mae McConnell Morgan, his parents, his brother James Frank Morgan and his brothers-in-law W. L. Mason and Sammy Henson.

Surviving are daughter and son-in-law Linda and Gary Wilson of Greenville, NC; son and daughter-in-law Tom and Sheila Bruce Morgan of Hilton Head, SC; sisters Minnie McClure, Geraldine Mason, and Joyce Henson all of Union County; granddaughter and husband Julie Wilson Johnson and Anthony of Garner, NC; granddaughter and husband Lori Wilson Herring and Charlie of Newton Grove, NC; grandson Shane Morgan and wife Jaime of Sherman, TX; grandson Erik Morgan of Hilton Head, SC; great grandsons Gage Herring, Brayden Herring, Sammy Johnson, Donovan Morgan, Aiden Morgan and great granddaughter Emma Ann Morgan; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 2, 2017 from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville with Rev. Larry Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1 p.m. until the service begins.
