William E. "bud" Hicks

December 5, 1937 — April 14, 2008

Mr.William E. "Bud" Hicks, age 70, of Copperhill, TN, passed away Monday, April 14, 2008 at Erlanger Medical Center. Bud was born Wednesday, May 12, 1937 to the late Mr.William Nolan Hicks and Willa Mae Panter Hicks.

Bud retired from the Cities Service Copper Company and was self employed for several years in the trucking business. He was also well known as an active participant in the local Democratic Party. He was a member of the Copperhill Masonic Lodge # 656.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Carlton Hicks, and infant daughter, Joan Hicks all of Copperhill, TN..

Survivors include: his wife of tweny five years, Unita Millsaps Hicks of the home; four children, Rick(Mose) and wife Lesa of Cleveland, TN, Vickie Runion and husband, Frank of Cleveland, TN, Kenton Hicks and wife Julie of Cleveland, TN, James Hicks from Cleveland; step-daughters, Sandy Leamon & husband, Billy, Gina Burchfiel, & husband, Jeff ; step-sons, Jim Hicks, Mitchell Hicks & wife Sherry; grandchildren, Haley Runion, Will Hicks, Brooklyn Burchfiel, Jake Hicks, Holly Hicks, Caleb Leamon, and Tyson Leamon ; brothers, James "Bee" Hicks of Mineral Bluff, GA, Clifton Hicks of Copperhill, TN, three nieces, and one nephew.

Private graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Don Harris, Reverend Jeremy Hall, and Reverend Billy Leamon officiating. Serving as pallbearers are: Rick Boring, Jeremy Hall, Levi Hicks, Whitey Ramsey, Freddy Rice, Jimmy Rogers, John Trantham, and James Whitener.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9:00 PM on Tuesday Evening, April 15, 2008.
