William Dempsey Cook

William D. Cook, Jr. age 86 of Mineral Bluff, passed away November 18, 2016 at the Union County Nursing Home. Mr. Cook was born November 28, 1929 in Fannin County, GA to the late William D. Cook, Sr. and the late Oda Sisson Cook. A member of Kingtown Baptist Church, he was the youngest of nine children and preceded in death by all of his siblings, his parents and his wife, Kay Briant Cook. He enjoyed gardening in his spare time and taking care of his lawn.

Survivors include: daughter, Linda (Gary) Smith, son, Doug (Mickie) Cook, grandchildren, Patrick (Marsha) Smith, Gerome Smith, and Joel (Tammy) Smith, great grandchildren, Trinity Smith and Justus Smith and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services: Monday, November 21, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home with Reverend Claude Mathis officiating. Music provided by: Jimmy Helton. Interment will follow in Copper Ridge Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home of McCaysville, Sunday evening from 6-9 pm.
