William Albert Cooper, 85, of Blairsville, GA passed peacefully on March 11, 2024. He was a widower as his wife Polly passed March 15, 2001. He also lost his son in February of 2022.
He is survived by his daughter, Kim Heath, and her husband John. He is also survived by his nieces Susan Brown, Sharon Whitfield, Steven Cooper, and Scott Cooper as well as my great nieces and nephews.
He was born in Winchester Va and after many years in Florida, yearned to move back to the mountains after his wife Polly passed in 2001. He found Blairsville and loved it there. He had so many wonderful friends there who blessed his life, especially in the later years when his health issues caused mobility issues.
He was a member of Old Union Baptist Church and loved being an member there.
He was an Air Force veteran who met his wife Polly while she was his boss even though she was in the Navy. They met and married on June 11, 1960, and Kim was born in August 1961. Two years later their son Kieth was born in August of 1963.
He spent most of his life in route sales for Wonder Bread and Country Hearth. He retired to Blairsville and enjoyed bowling and fishing until his health would not allow him to continue to enjoy those things.
His service will be at Cochran Funeral Home on 41 Hunt-Martin Street in Blairsville, GA on Friday, March 22, 2024, with visitation from 1:00-2:00 pm and the service following at 2:00 pm. He will be coming back to Florida to be buried beside Polly at the VA cemetery in Webster FL.
Dad, thanks for always loving me and being there for me and John. You always took care of us and now it is time for you to rest in the arms of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Until we meet again.
Love you.
Kim and John
