William Chastain

Mr. William Roy Chastain Sr., age 67, of Hiawassee GA, passed away November 6, 2009 in Towns county, GA.

Mr. Chastain was born on May 28, 1942 in Cherokee County, NC, to Mr. Robert Luther Chastain and Mrs. Ida "Mae" Morton. He was a member of The New Martins Creek Baptist Church.. Mr. Chastain was preceded in death by his father Robert Luther Chastain, mother Ida "Mae" Morton Chastain, daughter Melissa Shelton, sisters; Dixie Jones, Annie Mae Chastain, Rudy Aguilira, and twin sister Willie Payne brothers; Grover Chastain, Lee Chastain, J.B. Chastain, Frank Chastain, and Ernest Chastain..

Survivors include: daughter & son-in-law - Melanie Chastain and Mike Grier, daughter & son-in-law Melinda and Patrick Kelly, son & daughter-in-law William Jr., and Holly Chastain, son & daughter-in-law Shannon and Misty Garrison, sister & brother-in-law Mary Alice and J.C. McCoy, sister & brother-in-law Helen and Ben Ashe, sister & brother-in-law Amanda Lou and Don Sosebee, brother & sister-in-law L.C. and Frankie Nell Chastain, brother & sister-in-law Phillip and Nina Chastain, brother & sister-in-law Benjamin and Mary Sue Chastain, son-in-law Ricky Shelton.15 Grandchildren and 13 Great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services were held, Monday November 9, 2009 at 2:00 PM from The New Martins Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Hoyt Brown, Rev Jimmy Rogers and Rev. Paul Ray Morgan officiataing. Burial followed in The New Martins Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
