Mr. William C. "Billy" Henson, age 76 of Blairsville, GA, passed away Friday, September 21, 2007 at his residence.
Mr. Henson was born Thursday, December 18, 1930 in Union County, Georgia to the late Boyd Henson and the late Gertrude Hemphill Henson. He was a member and a Deacon of Liberty Baptist Church and was preceded in death by sisters, Opal Henson, Fannie Owenby and Delores Knight, brothers, John, Derwood and Jimmy Henson.
Survivors include: wife, Frances Deyton Henson of Blairsville, GA, daughter & son-in-law, Rita and Harold Killian of Foley, AL, daughter, Patsy Plott of Blairsville, GA, daughter & son-in-law, Angie and Jurior Arrant of Blairsville, GA, daughter & son-in-law, Leslie and Jason Hughes of Blairsville, GA, daughter & son-in-law, Melissa and Eric Collins of Blairsville, GA, son, Larry Henson of Blairsville, GA, brother, Bobby Henson of Blairsville, GA, sister, Sue Stephens of Blairsville, GA, grandchildren, Jody Killian, Alicia Franklin, Lauren Padgett, Nora Milam, Jeremiah Plott, Will Arrant, Hannah Hughes, Hunter Hughes, Chandler Collins and Ansley Collins, 7 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 23, 2007 at 4:00 P.M. from the Liberty Baptist Church with Rev. Brent Chatham, Rev. Guy Bradley and Rev. David Atkins officiating. Music will be provided by Liberty Baptist Church Choir. Interment will follow in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are: Jody Killian, Jeremiah Plott, Will Arrant, Nemo Milam, Greg Franklin and Hunter Hughes.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9, Saturday, September 22.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be made to Liberty Baptist Church Building Fund or The Giddeons.
The Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
