William Blumreich III

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William Blumreich III of Young Harris, GA. He passed away at home on Wednesday October 9, 2024 peacefully in his sleep at the age of 85. He is survived by his wife Lynn Blumreich, his sister Nancy (Buffalo, NY,) brother Robert (Buffalo, NY,) his sons William (Charlotte, NC) and John (Concord, NC) and grandchildren Caitlyn and Jackson.

A graduate of the University of Buffalo, William worked as a geophysicist for Exxon-Mobile for 34 years both in the US and abroad and spent his retirement years in Young Harris. He was passionate about helping others, volunteering both his time and energy for various causes and organizations. He was a member of McConnell Baptist Church and found great joy participating in the church choir as well as the Sons of Jubal Choir Ministry, touring the Southeastern US and overseas.

A brief memorial will be held on Thursday November 14th at McConnell Baptist Church, Hiawassee at 3 pm. In lieu of gifts please consider donating to The Sons of Jubal non-profit organization or to Samaritan’s Purse for relief of those who have suffered during this hurricane season.
