Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces funeral services for Mrs. Willa Bel "Fritz" Caylor, age 88, of Blairsville, who passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at Union County Nursing Home.
Mrs.Caylor was born in Blairsville on August 12, 1925 to the late Franklin & Verdie (Duckworth) Ensley. She was the eldest daughter of 7 children and helped raise the others like they were her own. Fritz attended Young Harris College and Emory University earning her master's degree. She married the love of her life, Robert and together they enjoyed each other with a smile that stretched from ear to ear. Her sacrificial love for her family led her on series of adventures where she worked at a manufacturing plant in Illinois during World War II, taught in south Georgia and then spent 38 years teaching in Cobb County. Her devotion to education, time invested in each student and the high standards she held was not forgotten by her students whom would frequently write letters to her throughout the years. With a strong Christian faith she approached life and family. She raised her own kids in church, a gift that they are thankful to have and a hope they can cling to all their lives. Fritz instilled the value of education into her children which is why Phyllis became a teacher and what made Jim a better leader serving in the Air Force. She was an Eastern Star member, a Sunday School teacher, a NASCAR enthusiast, a Hank Aaron baseball fan and so much more. Her influence, values and actions will undoubtedly impact many generations to come. Fritz was preceded in death bye her loving husband of 44 years, Robert A. Caylor; her parents; brother, Jim Ensley and sister, Mildred Higler.
She will be fondly remembered by all who knew her, but especially missed by her family: daughter & son-in-law, Phyllis & Fred Stinson; Son & daughter-in-law, Jim & Jeanette Reece; brothers & sister-in-laws, Bob & Melanie Ensley and Sam & Kathy Ensley; brother Frank Ensley, Jr. and sister, Sara Ensley. 7 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren, 12 Great- Great Grandchildren and many extended family also share in her legacy.
