Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces funeral services for Mrs. Willa Nell "Bill" Cook, age 86, of Norcross, Georgia, formerly of Blairsville, who passed away Wednesday morning, June 5, 2013, in Gracemont Assisted Living in Cumming, Georgia.
Mrs. Cook was a native of Union County, born in Blairsville on February 6, 1927, to the late Earl D. McDaris and Irene Garrison McDaris. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Blairsville, and of the Order of the Eastern Star. Her husband, J.W. Cook, preceded her in death in 1999 - they were married for 53 years. Her parents and a sister, Mildred Cook, also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Cook leaves behind her family members to cherish her memory: son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Patsy Cook, of Duluth, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Carol Cook, of Woodstock, Georgia; sister, Jerry Justus, of Auburn, Georgia; five grandchildren: Alan Cook, of Cartersville, Georgia; Brian Cook, of Suwanee, Georgia; Kevin Cook, and Ryan Cook, both of Goose Creek, South Carolina; and Brian Teague, of Woodstock, Georgia; four great grandchildren: Alex Cook, Caitlyn Cook, Hunter Cook, and Kylie Cook. Many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services have been scheduled for Saturday, June 8, 2013, at 2:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville. The following gentlemen have been selected by the family to serve as pallbearers: Alan Cook, Brian Cook, Kevin Cook, Ryan Cook, Tom Mitchell, and Dennis Shuler. Burial will be in Union Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will meet with friends on Saturday, before the funeral, starting at 12 noon, and last until time for the funeral service to start.
Flowers are being accepted; but if you prefer to do so, you may send memorial contributions to Crossroads Hospice; 1957 Lakeside Parkway, Tucker, Georgia 30084; or the American Heart Association.
