Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces memorial services for Mr. Wesley Gilbert "Wes" Aman, age 78, of Blairsville, who passed away Sunday, February 16, 2014, at his home.
Wes was born in Tampa, Florida on December 13, 1935, a son of the late Ralph Aman and Gladys Purvis Aman. Wes was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He and his wife Joyce had lived in Blairsville since 1996, moving here from Apopka, Florida, and they were members of First Baptist Church of Blairsville. While living in Apopka, Wes was an educator and school administrator for 30 years. After retirement and moving to Blairsville, Wes continued to invest himself into the lives of the youth of Towns and Union Counties, by working as a substitute teacher almost every day during the school year. Wes was a loving husband and father, and exemplified Christian love in all that he did.
Wes leaves behind his loving family members to honor and treasure his memory: his wife, Joyce, of Blairsville; son and daughter-in-law, Wesley, Jr. and Melissa Aman, of Winter Garden, Florida; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Candace Aman, of Canton, Georgia; and son and daughter-in-law, David and Kelsie Aman of Chiefland, Florida; grandchildren: Carson Aman, Connor Aman, Sara Aman, Taylor Evans, and Michaela Aman.
Memorial services have been scheduled for Saturday, February 22, 2014, at 2:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville. The family will meet with friends on Saturday, February 22, the same day of the service, starting at 1:00 p.m.
