Wayne Morris Banks, age 75, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away peacefully Friday, March 20, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Wayne was born July 4, 1939 in Atlanta, Georgia to Bruce Griffin and Annie Lee Gibby Banks. He was of Baptist faith, a born-again Christian. He was a loving and generous man, always ready to help others. He loved life and was the rock/support to his family, was a take-charge man and was always the life of every party.....very good at making people laugh. He was very active in coaching Little League baseball with his sons. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He retired in 1995 from American Woodmark Corporation as a Regional Sales Manager and moved to Blairsville. Wayne was preceded in death by his father, Bruce Banks; mother, Annie Lee Banks; sisters: June Banks, Bonnie Moulder, Brenda Patterson and brother, Michael Banks.
Wayne touched many lives and will forever be missed by all who knew him, but, especially by his loving family members: wife of 39 years, Kathryn King Banks; daughter, Karen (Joe) Luckie; sons, Derrick (Paige) Banks, Rodney (Denise) Banks; Sisters, Bobbie Jean Anderson, Peggy Mostrom, Jackie (Buck) Smith; and brother-in-law, Ray Patterson. He loved all his family, especially his grandchildren: Kristina, Emily, Ryan, Megan, Jeffrey, Ashley, Derrick Jr., Paris; great-grandchildren, Avery and Baylee. Also many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
There will be a Celebration of Life at the Pinetree Country Club in Kennesaw, Georgia, on April 4, 2015, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
