Wayne Henry Chastain

Mr. Wayne Henry Chastain, age 76, of Tallapoosa, GA, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Tanner Medical Center after an extended illness. He was a graduate of Murphy High School and Asheville Buncombe Tech. Henry was a Vietnam War Veteran serving in the US Army. He had a Snap On Tool dealership in the Marietta area for twenty-two years and was later employed by Davenport Transportation for many years.

Henry was an active member of Smyrna United Methodist Church. Also, he was an active member of the Joyful Singers Gospel group. He was a lover of Southern Gospel music.

Henry was preceded in death by his father and mother, Boyd and Mary Chastain and sisters, Lucille Ingle and Marilyn Chastain. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Jamie Chastain; father and mother-in-law, Ronnie and Jane Nelson; brothers, John Chastain (Kathy) of Brasstown, NC, and Ben Chastain (Mary Lou) of Murphy, NC; niece, Amy Robertson; and nephews, Gary and Grady Ingle; as well as two great nieces and two great nephews.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 11, at 2:00 PM at Smyrna United Methodist Church with Rev. Troy White and Jerry Keown officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the service. Gentlemen serving as pallbearers will be Jerry Ellis, Jimmy Hannah, Jerry Keown, Rodney Johnson, Larry Cohran, and Gary Cohran. Honorary pallbearers will be Buck Scoggins and Robert Hall. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military honors.
