Mr. Warner Mercer, age 80 of Murphy, NC passed away Thursday, December 7, 2017, at Murphy Medical Center. Mr. Mercer was born June 14, 1937, in Boston, MA, to the late Jordan and Winifred Mercer.
He enjoyed playing horseshoes, pool, fishing, and ping pong. He liked watching the Boston Red Sox and splitting wood with his youngest son Shaun.
He enjoyed family cookouts.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Cal Mercer, Stan Mercer, and Walter Mercer.
He is survived by his high school sweetheart, best friend, and wife of sixty years, Patricia Sestito Mercer; he was very proud of his five children, Warner Paul Mercer, Shaun Mercer, Angel Mercer, Julie Mercer, and Leah Mulholland. He is also survived by brothers, Don Mercer, Bob Mercer, and Herb Mercer, sister, Shirley Sestito, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A celebration of his life is planned for a later date.
