Ward Kirkland Woolley

Mr. Ward Kirkland Woolley, age 86, of Hiawassee, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2024 at Union General Hospital in Blairsville, Georgia. He was born on March 25, 1938 to the late Harper and Emma Woolley. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother; Robert Woolley. 

Mr. Woolley was of the Christian faith and served as a Deacon in the First Baptist Church of Saint Petersburg, Florida. Most recently he served his Lord in the Macedonia Baptist Church in Hiawassee, Georgia. He had a melodious bass voice in which he praised his Lord in choir and quartets. As an instrumentalist, Mr. Woolley was a very accomplished marimba player.

He was known as a man of great generosity and kindness to others. He will be well remembered by many. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years; Shirley Hattaway Woolley, many nieces and nephews, including some great and great great. He is further survived by many cousins.

 A graveside service is scheduled to be held on Thursday, December 26, 2024 at 1:30 PM in the Osborn Cemetery in Hiawassee, Georgia with Rev. Donnie Jarrard officiating. Music will be shared by his great niece, Summer Griffin. There will not be any visitation held prior to his service. Interment will follow the graveside service in Osborn Cemetery.
