Walter Cleveland Oliver

Walter "Cleve" Cleveland Oliver, age 87 of McCaysville, passed away Monday March 21, 2016 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Mr. Oliver was born June 26, 1928 in Ellijay, Ga.and worked as a foreman for Tennessee Chemical Company. He was preceded in death by his parents James and Alma Oliver, three brothers, and three sisters. Mr. Oliver was a member of the First Baptist Church of Epworth and the McCaysville chapter of the Masonic Lodge. Mr. Oliver loved music and enjoyed playing bluegrass with the River Park Band.

Survivors include: wife, Jean Oliver, daughter, Judy (Dave) Visscher and ten nieces and nephews.

Funeral services: Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Tom Jordon officiating. Music provided by: the River Park Band. Interment will follow in the Copper Ridge Memorial Gardens cemetery. Pallbearers: David Wright, Tommy Wright, Don Crider, George Jones, and Mike Brennen. Honorary pallbearers: Former Employees of Tennessee Chemical.

The family will receive friends at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home of McCaysville, Tuesday, March 22, 2016, 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
