Wallace E Maybury, Jr , age 74 of Murphy, NC died Thursday, May 17, 2018 at home with his loving wife, son and sister.
Mr Maybury was born in Lowell, MA to the late Wallace E Maybury, Sr and Ruth Emma Harvey Maybury. As a young man, Wally went to work for his family business, Harvey Lumber and Hardware. Later, he became a firefighter in Chelmsford, MA. for 14 yrs. Longing for warmer weather, he moved to FL, where he was a lumber sales rep for Kimal Lumber and Hardware until he retired after achieving over a $1,000,000.00 in sales.Buddy (Wally) was part of the Firefighters Union and was also instrumental in starting several charities, one by starting a golf tournament/car show, which has continued to this day.
He is preceded in death by his parents and son, Raymond J Maybury, Sr. Survivors include his wife, Dixie Lee Bundy-Maybury; son, Dale E Maybury; daughter, Ruth C (Bill) Rhodes; sister, Pauline R Maybury; daughter in law, Kelly A Maybury; 7 grandchildren, Hayley, Amy, Savanna, Nicholas, Cole, RJ, Jason and Kevin and a great granddaughter, Lily.
Service: Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 2:00 pm from the Little Brasstown Baptist Church , NC.
