Vivian Joyce Addington, age 80 of Blairsville, passed away Friday, December 29, 2017 at the Lazy R Care Center. Vivian was born July 17, 1937 in Union County, GA to the late Willie and Velma Byers Addington. She was a 1956 graduate of Union County High School and attended Young Harris College. Vivian was a longtime and faithful member of Coosa United Methodist Church. Vivian was very active in Emmaus, and the Coosa Methodist Telephone Ministry. One of her passions was collecting angels and she had hundreds. Later in life, she would give them away so that others could be inspired by them.
She is survived by the Hughes family, her cousins, her friends at the Lazy R, Coosa Methodist Church, and in the greater Blairsville community.
Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, December 31, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Coosa United Methodist Church with the Rev. Earl Bishop and Rev. Roy Watkins officiating. Music provided by Evan and Kolby Hughes. Interment will follow in the Coosa United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers: Jason Helton, Evan Hughes, Denver Garrett, Darrell England, Caleb England, and Chad England. Honorary pallbearers: Exola Gates, Leola Lyons, Imogene Hughes, Sybil Tyre, Della M. Fultz, Velma Peavey, Margie Harkins, Alicia Greenway, and Melody Brown.
The family will receive friends at the Cochran Funeral Home & Crematory of Blairsville, Saturday, December 30, 2017, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
