Virginia Anne Kelsey

Virginia "Jeanne" Kelsey, age 55 of Murphy, NC passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2018.

Jeanne was born in Orlando, Florida on May 29, 1962. She was fiercely independent and had an adventurous spirit- enjoying both snow skiing and water sports. Jeanne had a soft spot for animals, especially dogs. Her ability to stay on task and keep things very organized lead to a career as a bookkeeper for various businesses. Jeanne was very talented in the kitchen and was an accomplished cook. In more recent years, she began to develop her creative side through making jewelry pieces for residents in the nursing home - many of whom became close friends.

She leaves behind to treasure her memory: mother & step-father, Virginia and Rick Lindvig; brother, John M.Kelsey; sister & brother-in-law, Janet & Michael Downs; step-brothers, Rick H. (Marti) Lindvig and Scott (Brenda) Lindvig; and step-sisters, Jana (Scott) Wilson and Wendy (Rick) Jones. Jeanne was preceded in death by her father, Martin Lester Kelsey.

Funeral Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 15, 2018 from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville with Pastor Fred Lodge officiating. Special music was presented by Minister R. Terry Hooper. Interment will be held at a later date in Union Memory Gardens Cemetery in Blairsville. The family received friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 4 until 7 p.m.
