Mrs. Vicie Jane “Tincie” Francis Jones, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, August 18, 2013. She was born on Easter Sunday April 20, 1924 in Inez, KY to the late Hattie Sluss Francis and Perry Francis. She was nicknamed “Tincie” because she only weighed 3 lbs when she was born!! The name stuck throughout her 89 years. She met a handsome Georgia boy, Earl Prince Jones while he was working in her hometown of Inez and on June 28, 1940 they eloped and he quickly brought his shy bride home to Blue Ridge, Ga. Earl passed away April 9, 1981.They were married for 41 years. Tincie worked at Earl's Lakeside restaurant as the Head Cook until it burned in the 70's. She worked as a cook at several restaurants after that including Billie's Cabin. She was widely known for her fried chicken, gravy, hamburgers and especially her garlic salad recipe. After retiring from the restaurant service, Tincie traveled extensively and would sit with the elderly between trips. She settled down a little bit in her 70's and found time to fall in love a second time and remarry. She and Lloyd Todd Sr. were married for 8 yrs until he passed away at the age of 100. All of her children and grandchildren loved traveling with her and taking her places because she was so young at heart. It was a running joke in the family that the first one to get to her house is the one she would go with that day. Crossword puzzles and Stephen King novels kept her mind and wit sharp. She was very patient, funny, laidback and loved to try new things. She loved the Lord and was baptized at Morganton Baptist Church. Tincie was a resident of Heritage Health Care of Ducktown, TN at the time of her passing.
Tincie was preceded in death by her husbands Earl Prince Jones and Lloyd Todd Sr. She also had a son Ronald “Ronnie” Jones to go on before her. All of her sisters and brothers are deceased.
