Vernon Luther Shaffer

Mr. Vernon Luther Shaffer, age 85 of Hiawassee, GA, passed away Saturday, September 13, 2008 at Chatuge Regional Nursing Home.
Mr. Shaffer was born Saturday, September 30, 1922 in Franklin County, PA to the late Grover Cleveland Shaffer and the late Lulu May Armstrong Shaffer. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, a World War II Navy Veteran, life member of the VFW and a member of the America Retired Volunteer Fireman. He was preceded in death by wife, Eleanor Shaffer, seven brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include: sisters, Eleanore Shaffer of Waynesboro, PA and Betty Verdier of Fayetteville, PA and niece Triva Ebersole of Waynesboro, PA.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday December 7, 2008 at Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Harold Ledford officiating.
The Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
