Vernon Lee Jenkins, age 74, of Murphy, passed away Friday, May 27, 2022, at his home following a brief illness. On February 8, 1948, Lee (lovingly known as Butch or Papa Lee) was born in Chattanooga, TN, to James Ervin Jenkins and Lois Hicks Jenkins.
Lee worked as a mechanic and was a member of Murphy's Masonic Lodge. His favorite pastimes included working on model trains and carpentry.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ervin Jenkins, mother, Lois Jenkins, and brother, Robert Jenkins.
He is survived by his wife, Kimberly Jones Jenkins, daughter, Kristen Celeste Jenkins, and brother, Darrell Jenkins. Lee is also survived by cherished chosen family including grandchildren he adored: Sydney Ramey, Will Ramey, Jessie Ramey, Hannah Ramey, Bryan Ramey, and Cameron Ramey.
The family will receive friends at the Cochran Funeral Home Murphy Chapel Saturday, June 4, 2022, from 3:00 PM till 5:00 PM.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
