Verle Cable, 87 of Blue Ridge, GA formerly of Richmond, KY passed away February 22, 2013 at Heritage Healthcare in Blue Ridge, GA.
Born March 25, 1925 in Avon (Fayette Co.) KY, Verle served as a Marine in WWII in the Radar Corps in Jacksonville, FL and Cherry Point,NC.
He was a dedicated and passionate farmer for 65 years, managing the Hangar estate for over 50 years. Verle served on the board of Farm Bureau and served as President, dedicated to serving the needs of farmers in Madison Co.
Verle was a 48 year member and Deacon Emeritus of the First Baptist Church, Richmond and member of the Friendship Bible Class. Since moving to Blue Ridge, he has been a member of the Blue Ridge United Methodist Church.
Verle is preceded in death by his wife Frankie(Shadoan), parents Millard and Josephine Cable of Nicholasville and brother Kenton Cable of Versailles. Survivors include daughter Judy Cable Cheyne (Don) of Blue Ridge, GA, Joe Cable(Mary Joyce) of Cary, NC , granddaughter Pam Boutin (Mike) of Sugar Hill, GA granddaughter Karen Saldivia (Jorge) of Alpharetta, GA great granddaughter Alexa Saldivia and great grandsons Cole and Jake Boutin.
Funeral services will be held in Richmond, KY. A tribute to Mr. Cable will be held at Blue Ridge United Methodist Church on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at the 11:00 service.
