Troy Seabolt

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Troy Seabolt, resident of Blairsville, GA, who left this world peacefully on January 13, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on June 5, 1942, a beloved daddy, papaw, brother, and uncle, he was known for his warmth and kindness that touched everyone he met.

Troy called Blairsville, Georgia, home, where he embraced the beauty of the mountains and the simplicity of life. He found joy in the small things—climbing mountains to hunt ginseng, tending to his garden, and mowing the grass on sunny afternoons. There was nothing better to him than sitting on the porch, watching life go by, and sharing stories with family and friends. Whether he was enjoying a quiet moment or engaging in lively conversations, Troy's genuine spirit left a lasting impression on all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Troy was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar Seabolt and Kathleen Payne Seabolt; brothers Jerry Seabolt and Herbert Seabolt; former spouse Joyce Sullens; Sister-in-laws Frankie Seabolt and Mary Seabolt; niece Evelyn Seabolt; and nephews Jason Seabolt and Luke Gaddis.

Troy is survived by his daughter, Kathy (Tony) Lee; son, Eddie (Peggy) Seabolt; grandsons, Trevor, Tyler (Marisa), Ethan, and Hunter; great-grandchildren, Odin, Wrenley, Addie, Emmett, and Lainey; brothers, Jimmy Seabolt, Ricky (Terry) Seabolt, and David Seabolt; sisters, Annie (Mark) Holbrooks, Linda (Jim) Peck, Rita (Bill) Holloway, Eileen Seabolt, and Nickie (Tony) Gaddis; sister-in-law Brenda Seabolt; friend and neighbor Sandra Gunter (Sally). Many other relatives and friends survive.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 17th, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Cochran McDaniel Funeral Home of Blairsville with Pastor Todd Flanagan and Danny White officiating. Special Music will be provided by Rebecca Flanagan and Matthew Anderson.

The family will receive friends at Cochran McDaniel Funeral Home on Thursday, January 16th,2025, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers Ricky Seabolt, David Seabolt, Cory Seabolt, Arlis Seabolt, Nathan Holbrooks, and Wesley Holbrooks. The following gentlemen will serve as honorary pallbearers Trevor Lee, Tyler Leen, and Hunter Seabolt.

Interment will follow at Owltown Cemetery in Blairsville, GA.
