Troy H King

September 2, 1918 — September 24, 2011

Troy H King, age 93 of Blairsville, passed away Saturday, September 24, 2011 at Chatuge Regional Nursing Home. Mr. King was born September 2, 1918 in Blairsville, GA to the late Jass King and the late Minnie Dillenger King . He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years. Troy had worked with the Civilian Conservation Corps, he was a farmer and also worked for many years at Georgia Boot. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Vivian C. Martin, Brothers, Ovell King, Ed King, Vernon King, Otis King and Jess King and sisters, Bertha Flowers and Artiebelle Ingram.

Surviving family members include his wife, Clara Mae Parker King of Blairsville, daughters and sons-in-law, Betty Ann and Ben Hale of Colliersville, TN, Kathryn and Wayne Banks of Blairsville and Jackie and Joe Hunt of Rockmart, GA, son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Margaret King of Meansville, GA, sister, Ollie Jones of Blairsville and Brother and sister-in-law, J.B. and Betty Lou King of Blairsville. Nine grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren along with many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held Sunday, September 25, 2011 at 4:00 pm at the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Young officiating. Music was provided by Scott Carter and Justin Carter. Interment was in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The following gentlemen served as pallbearers; Jeff Ballard, Binkie King, Ray Ingram, Harold Ingram, Larry King and Raymond King. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Wayne Henderson, Wayne Banks, Jack Lance, Ryan Luckie and Joe Hunt.
