Tommy Ware

Tommy (H.G.) Ware, age 86, passed away May 3, 2017 at Brookdale Senior Living in Forest City, North Carolina. He lost his wife of 60 years, Loretta Nari Ware, in September 2011.

Tommy was born in McCaysville, Ga. to the late Carl Ware, Sr. and the late Edna Williams Ware on July 29, 1930. In addition to his parents, a sister, Joann Arp, preceded him in death.

Tommy was a servant-leader at his beloved Williamstown United Methodist Church in McCaysville for his entire life. In October 2014, he moved to North Carolina to be near his daughter and was welcomed as a regular attendee at Adaville Baptist Church in Spindale, NC.

Tommy is survived by his son Hugh Ware and daughter-in-law Vickie of Hayesville, North Carolina, and daughter Jill Ware Miracle and son-in-law John of Rutherfordton, North Carolina. He is also survived by a brother, Rev. Carl Ware, Jr. of Knoxville, Tennessee. He leaves behind granddaughter Tracey Ware Fears and her husband, US Marine Master Sergeant Eric Fears and their two children Cole and Marcella in Jacksonville, NC. He also leaves granddaughters Kristen Miracle of Portland, Oregon and Kaysie Miracle of Raleigh, North Carolina. Tommy is survived by four generations of nieces and nephews.

Tommy began work at Tennessee Copper Company in September 1948, at the Smelter Store. Beginning in 1951, he served in the Army in Germany, and later returned to work in the store's office. He continued work as an accountant at Cities Service Company and the succeeding companies until his retirement over 40 years later.

A service honoring his life will be held on Saturday, May 6 at 3:00 at Williamstown United Methodist Church. Visitation with the family will be held prior to the service from 1:00 – 2:45. Pastor Doug Jordan and Rev. Carl Ware, Jr. will officiate.

Tommy's children express their gratitude for the kindness, care and dignity extended by the staffs at Brookdale Senior Living, Hospice of Rutherford County and Padgett and King Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Williamstown United Methodist Church building fund at PO Box 219, McCaysville, GA 30555.

Finch Cochran Funeral Home of McCaysville has charge of the arrangements.
