Timothy Glen Alderman

The Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces memorial services for Mr. Timothy Glen Alderman, age 78, of Blairsville who passed away at his home on Friday, July 13, 2012.
Glen was born in Bartow, Florida on March 21, 1934. In his youth he was a Boy Scout and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He served in the United States Navy from 1953-1957. For 25 years he was a member of the Willow Oak Volunteer Fire Department and was instrumental in building the fire station and Community Center there. He retired in 1996 and moved to Blairsville where he worked at Vogel State Park, and was also a volunteer there for many years.

He will be fondly remembered by all who knew him, but especially missed by his family: Loving wife of 52 years, Barbara Matthes Alderman of Blairsville; Daughters, Joni Alderman and Jennifer Dyer of Blairsville; Sons, Tim Alderman (Denise) and Todd Alderman of Mulberry, Florida, twin brother Sam Alderman (Janet) of Mulberry; sister, Ernestine Stavely of Lakeland, Florida; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by two grandsons, Josh and Ryan Alderman of Mulberry.

Memorial services will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 15, 2012 at Vogel State Park under the main pavilion. with Travis Henry officiating. Special Music will be provided by Carli Kidd. The family will receive friends from 6 until the service begins. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Friends of Vogel State Park.
