Thomas Jerome Taaffe

Mr. Thomas J. Taaffe, age 71 of Murphy, passed away March 9, 2015 at his home,surrounded by family. Mr. Taaffe was born October 1, 1943 to the late John J. Taaffe and the late Marie Hammer Taaffe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, John Taaffe.

Tom was the director of Good Shepherd Home Health Agency and home care Representative to the NC Medical Care Commission for over a decade.

Survivors include loving wife, Ann Taaffe, daughter, Katherine Taaffe, son & daughter-in-law, Paul (Erin) Taaffe, daughter & son-in-law Susan (Hank Rudisill) Taaffe, brother, Bill Taaffe, 3 grandchildren, Henry Read, Kate & Sarah Taaffe.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Episcopal Church of the Messiah with the Pastor Delmer Chilton, and Father George Kloster officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Taaffe residence, 60 Holly Hill Ridge, Murphy, NC 28906 Wednesday, March 11, 2015, from 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm.

In Lieu of flowers memorials can be made out to, St. Vincent De Paul Society; The Family Resource Center, or Sharing Center of Cherokee Co (PO Box 1692, Murphy, NC 28906).
