Mrs. Sylvia Corn Odom, age 96 of Knoxville, TN., formerly of McCaysville, GA., passed away January 27, 2016 at Beverly Park Place in Knoxville, TN. Mrs. Odom was born May 28, 1919 in McCaysville, GA to the late Charles J. Corn and the late Cordia N. Mull. A member of the 1st United Methodist Church of Copperhill, she was preceded in death by parents, Charles J. Corn, and Cordia N. Corn, and her husband, Charles W. Odom and husband Weldon H. Self, Sr., sisters Florence Leo Howell, Ethel Swinford, and Evangeline "Cornie" Swanson, brother-in-law Edward Swanson.
Survivors include: daughters, Loretta (Doyce) Loudermilk, and Barbara Collins, son Weldon Self, Jr., nephews Charles and Frank Swanson, grandchildren, Randy Loudermilk, Ramona L. (Kenny) Cook, great grandchildren, Alex Loudermilk, Daniel Loudermilk, Gary Loudermilk, Hope (Byron) Harwell, and Chloe Cook, and five great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services: Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Jennings Neal and Rev David Anderson officiating. Music provided by: Gerrie Sue Massengale.
