Sybil Harkins Tyre

Cochran Funeral Home and Crematory of Blairsville announces the death and funeral services for Mrs. Sybil Elizabeth Harkins Tyre, age 81, native and resident of Blairsville, Georgia, who passed away on Monday evening, March 16th, 2020 at her home.

Mrs. Tyre was a member of House of Prayer in Blairsville, and had worked as a receptionist for Dr. Mary Beth Wiles in Blairsville for many years. She had been preceded in death by her husband, Ted Tyre, who passed away in 2008. Also preceding her in death was her parents, James Emory Harkins and Bonnie Chambers Harkins; sisters, Norma Jean Harkins Jones and Eula Lee Harkins Spence; and brothers, J.C. Harkins and Charles Harkins.

Loving family members left to treasure Sybil's memory are: daughter and son-in-law, Tammy Tyre Swanson and her husband Jerry; son and daughter-in-law, Chuck "Bobby" Tyre and his wife, Dawn; two grandchildren: Jennifer Swanson Mendoza (Jose) and Jennesa Swanson Isaac (Parise); great grandchildren: Parise Isaac, Jr, Jaylen Fortson, Christian Mendoza, Tristan Mendoza, and Jerry Isaac.

Funeral services have been scheduled for Wednesday, March 18, 2020, to be held at 2:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home. The following gentlemen have been requested to serve as pallbearers: Stacy Chambers, Robert Harkins, Bryan Harkins, Cory Collins, Aaron Dills, and Donald Elliott. Requested to serve as honorary escort to the family are James Harkins and Larry Connally. Burial will be in Ivy Log Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, March 18th, the same day as the funeral, starting at 12:00 noon.
