Sue Carol Collins Collis, age 79 of Blue Ridge, went home to heaven on Sunday, December 21, 2014 to join her husband Luther Collis. They were married on August 17, 1975. Sue was born October 27, 1935 in Morganton, GA to the late William Wayne Collins and the late Myrtle Hayes Collins. A member of the Barnes Chapel Church, she was a loving person and was loved by everyone who knew her. She loved to read in her spare time and her dream job for many years was Library Aide at the Blue Ridge Public Library. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brother, Nelson Collins, step-daughter, Bonnie Cole and nieces, Cindy Daniel and Leisa Roe.
Survivors include sister, Doris and James Daves, sister, Diane and Bill Smith, sister-in-law, Anne Collins, nephews, Keith Collins, Tim Collins, Mark Daves, nieces, Ruth Wittenbrook and Deena Norton and several great nieces and nephews. Also surviving are step-son, Tim Quinan and two step-grandchildren, Bridget Burris and Eric Cole.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold Weeks officiating. Music provided by Jerry Garren and Lucy McKinney. Interment will follow in the Barnes Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers include Mark Daves, Austin Daves, Gavin Roe, Travis Norton, Jeremy Smith, and Cody Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Tyler Norton, Brooke Norton and the members of Barnes Chapel Church.
The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home, Monday evening from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
