Shirley Winn

Shirley Mae (Coker) Winn, of Gainesville, GA., went to be with the Lord on February 14, 2023 at age the age of 81, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.

Shirley was born on February 17, 1941 in Blairsville, GA. She is the daughter of the late Cliff and Dimple Coker. She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Winn, and her siblings: Mary Souther, Iva Lee Gooch, and Eldon Coker.

She is survived by her siblings: Harold Coker, Jeanette Hughes, Linda Sosebee, Roger Coker, Anthony Coker, Stanley Coker, and Debbie Free. She is survived by her only daughter, Leana Haupt and her husband Sam Haupt, along with her 3 grandchildren; Aaron Haupt, Isabelle Haupt and Ireland Haupt.

Shirley was raised in the Track Rock area of Blairsville, GA with her loving mother and father, and 10 siblings. As the third oldest girl in her family, the role of taking care of others came early to her beginning with her younger siblings, and carrying the necessary responsibilities of living on a farm. She moved to the Atlanta area shortly after graduating high school and lived there for around 15 years. She married Kenneth Winn, of Blairsville. They settled in Flowery Branch, GA where they lived for 45 years. She was a member of Track Rock Baptist Church, the church that she was raised in. While she attended and served faithfully in her local church of Chicopee Baptist for 20 years, she would take every opportunity she had to return to worship at Trackrock Baptist Church. Shirley loved to spend time with her family, and could usually be found in the kitchen at any event. She had a true servant heart and loved her family, friends and church deeply. She also enjoyed reading, cooking, and shopping; but her favorite activity was loving and spoiling her 3 grandkids. The absence of her love and friendship will be missed by many.

The family will recieve friends at Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville, Ga, Sunday February 19, 2023 from 2:00 - 3:30 pm.
