Mrs. Shirley Holden Brooks, age 87, of Copperhill, passed away Friday evening, April 1, in a Cleveland, TN hospital; She was born in Gilmer County, Georgia, on Friday, August 21, 1934, to the late Benjamin Holden and Rosa Jane Stanley Holden.
Shirley was a member of Kingtown Baptist Church; she had served several years as a Pink Lady at Fannin Regional Hospital and enjoyed sewing, quilting, and puzzles.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, husband, Hubert Brooks, and daughter Sandra Long.
Survivors include sons, Gary (Carol) Brooks and Kiley Brooks, sister Joann McDonald, brother-in-law Eulan Brooks and sister-in-law Ruth Ann Brooks, grandchildren, Brandon Long, Kira Brooks, Stephanie Lacy, Ashley Carroll, Daniel Brooks, and Ryan Brooks, great-grandchildren, Jimmy Long, Jordan Long, Jaden Long, Adeline Deckard, Judah Carroll, Levi Lacy, and Sara Lacy.
Funeral services Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at 11:00 AM from the chapel of the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home with Dr. Tom Jordan and Rev. Matthew McDaniel officiating.
Interment will follow in the Copper Ridge Memorial Gardens.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Ryan Brooks,
Jordan Long, Jaden Long, Josh Lacy, Jimmy Long, and Brandon Long.
Daniel Brooks will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
