Shirley Garrison

Shirley Garrison, age 79 of Mineral Bluff, passed away Monday, November 13, 2017, at her home. Mrs. Garrison was born November 2, 1938, in Ellijay, GA to the late Artie Weaver Newberry and the late Elzia Newberry. She was a member of Hot House Baptist Church enjoyed cooking, working in her flower and vegetable gardens. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was preceded in death by husband, Kenley Eddie Garrison.

Survivors include: son, Barry Mealer, daughter, Bobbie (Eland) Jones, son, Billy (Levone) Mealer, daughter, Theresa Garrison, son, Tim (Sherry) Garrison, son, Rodney (Vickie) Garrison, brothers, Richard Newberry, Hollis Newberry, Larry Newberry and Douglas Newberry, grandchildren, Christopher Mealer, Anna Mealer, Amanda Mealer, Brit Jones, Josh Weaver, Kassie Fowler, Daniel Ray, Jessica Walden, Jenna Garrison, Emily Garrison, Nathaniel Garrison, great grandchildren, Hannah, Hailee, Chassity, Josh, Mattie, Tyler, Isaiah, Hailey, Kaden, Tallen, Bailey, Carson and Autumn, nieces and nephews also survive
Funeral services: Thursday, November 16, 2017, at 2:00 pm at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy Hooper officiating. Music provided by Brit Jones, Jessica Walden, and Jenna Garrison. Interment will follow in Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers: Josh Weaver, Daniel Ray, Nathaniel Garrison, Tyler Jones, Brit Jones and Chris Mealer. Honorary pallbearers: Hollis Newberry, Larry Newberry, Richard Newberry and Douglas Newberry.

The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, Wednesday, November 15, 2017, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
