Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces funeral services for Beverly Sharon Sandefur, age 67, of Young Harris, Georgia, who passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at her home.
Sharon was born in Oak Grove, Louisiana, on January 30, 1949, a daughter of the late Clint Thomas French and the late Charlyne Shepherd French. For the past eight years, she and her husband Ken have resided in Young Harris, moving here from Mississippi. Sharon was a good wife and mother, and her husband's best friend. She loved flowers and working in the garden. Sharon was an animal lover, too. She loved to travel. Always faithful to her church at First Baptist Church of Blairsville, where she was a member, Sharon loved to worship God with her brothers and sisters in Christ. For the past three years, Sharon displayed incredible strength as she battled cancer. Besides her parents, Sharon had a daughter, Shelley Lynn Sandefur, and a sister, Mickey French Long, who also preceded her in death.
Family members left to treasure Sharon's memory are: husband, Robert McKenzie "Ken" Sandefur; and son, Robert Scott Sandefur, of Ridgeland, Mississippi; brothers: Thomas French, Richard French; and sisters, Gaye French and Melissa French, all of Monroe, Louisiana; and brother-in-law and his wife, David Lee and Janice Sandefur, of Pearl, Mississippi.
Funeral services have been scheduled for Wednesday, February 10, 2016, at 2:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Parkway Funeral Home in Ridgeland, Mississippi, with Rev. Tommy Jarrett officiating. Burial will be in Jessamine Cemetery in Ridgeland. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2016, between the hours of 5 until 7 p.m.
