Sara S. Elliott

Cochran Funeral Home and Crematory of Blairsville announces the death and funeral services for Mrs. Sara Mae Smith Elliott, age 92, of Blairsville, Georgia, who passed away on Thursday night, June 3rd, 2021 in Union General Hospital in Blairsville.

Mrs. Elliott was born in Marietta, Georgia, a daughter of the late Rev. Thomas Eller Smith and the late Viola Campbell Smith. Many years ago, she was employed as a secretary at Dobbins Air Force Base in Marietta. Mrs. Elliott was a member of First Baptist Church of Blairsville. Besides her parents, she had been preceded in death by a sister and a brother-in-law: Betty Lou and Bob Aiola.

Mrs. Elliott was loved so much and will be dearly missed, especially by her family: her husband of 74 years, Virgil L. Elliott; daughter and son-in-law, Pam and David Parker; daughter, Kristi Barber; and son and daughter-in-law, Donnie and Joyce Elliott; seven grandchildren: Dana Rymer, Denise Elliott, Michael Barber, Levi Goodman, Lucas Parker, Brittnee Barber, and Renee Bravo; great grandchildren: Drew Elliott, Cody Rymer, Austyn Tschantz, Ayden Rogers, and Emma Barber. Many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services have been scheduled for Tuesday, June 8th, 2021, at 2:00 p.m., to be held in the Rock Chapel of First Baptist Church of Blairsville, with Pastor Fred Lodge officiating. The following gentlemen have been requested to serve as pallbearers: Levi Goodman, Lucas Parker, John Palmer, David Parker, Cody Rymer and Austyn Tschantz. Burial will be in Choestoe Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will meet with friends at Cochran Funeral Home on Monday, June 7th, between the hours of 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
