Sandra Lee Hook

Mrs. Sandra Lee Hook, age 64 of Murphy, passed away Monday, June 1, 2015 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga. Mrs. Hook was born April 16, 1951 in Texas, to the late Luther and Helen Jackie Helton Harris. She was a member of First Baptist Church McCaysville/Copperhill, where she was active in the choir and had served as assistant minister of music at times. She was a very talented person who enjoyed singing and playing a variety of instruments, including the hand bells at church. She was a former Music, Art and Drama teacher at a Christian academy. She was also a partner in the Bruce Hook Insurance Agency.She helped to start the Appalachian Home Builders Association in Cherokee County, and was still serving as the secretary. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, and attending their sports games.

Survivors include: her husband, Larry Hook, daughter, Lisa Hook, daughter, Erin (Ronnie) Yarbro, son, Jason (Cortney) Hook, grandchildren, Tiffanie Johnson, Kenton Braswell, Alexandria Hook, Addison Hook, Myra Hook, Cruz, Kenzly and Cierra Yarbro, Lexis, Kylie Yarbro and Jerzee Beach, great grandaughters, Harper Clayton and RaeLynn Thomas, Aunt, Betty Westlake, cousins, oldest and dearest friend, Phyllis Gottfried and her son Mark Hildebran.

Funeral services: Saturday, June 6, 2015, at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church McCaysville/Copperhill, with the Rev. Mathew McDaniel officiating. Music will be provided by: the church choir . Interment will follow in the Hopewell Cemetery in Cherokee County.

The family will receive friends at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home on Friday, June 5, 2015, from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
