Sammy Lee Monkus

Mr. Sammy Lee Monkus, age 49 of Atlanta, passed away February 21, 2012 at Nurse Care of Atlanta. Mr. Monkus was born January 29, 1963 in Baldwin Co., GA to the late Edgar Harrison Monkus and the late Muriel Waldroup Monkus. Sammy was raised by his parents the late James C. Monkus and Elizabeth Pierce Monkus in Atlanta, GA. He was preceded in death by a brother Eugene Monkus and a sister Christine Adams.

Survivors include: brother, Benny Monkus, brother, Randall (Sherry) Monkus, brother, Harrison "Grady" (Rachel) Monkus, sister, Pam Wilson, brother, Mark Monkus, sister, Carolyn Rogers, sister, Peggy Monkus Davis, sister, Joyce Monkus and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services: Friday, February 24, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at the Henry Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Doug Ledford officiating. Interment will follow in Toccoa Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday February 23, 2012.
