Mrs. Ruth Vincent Collins, 92, of Snellville, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 in Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.
Mrs. Collins was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on May 30, 1923. She was a member of Kirkwood Methodist Church in Atlanta. Mrs. Collins loved her family and her grandkids, and working outside in her yard. She could be a little feisty, and was quick with an answer. Her husband, Ed, passed away in 1988.
Surviving family members left to share in her legacy are: son, Vincent Collins, of Hiawassee; sister-in-law, Barbara Vincent, of Decatur, Georgia; six grandchildren: Courtney Carrillo and her husband Gabriel Carrillo, of Bloomington, Illnois; Chris Collins and his wife Kristin Collins of Blairsville; Dr. Chad Collins and his wife, Leigh Collins of Greensboro, Georgia; Carrie Johnson and her husband Ret. Lt. Col. David Johnson, of Bend, Oregon; Caris Martin and her husband Chad Martin, of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; and Claire Collins, of New York City, New York; many other relatives also survive.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, January 30, 2016, at 1:00 p.m., to be held in the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville, with Pastor Mark Burgess officiating. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, January 30th, beginning at 12 noon.
